Decision BC-6/8 adopted by the sixth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Basel Convention held in 2002 welcomed the establishment of the joint Pacific Regional Centre to implement the Basel and Waigani Conventions. A Framework Agreement on this was signed in 2003.

Parties served: Cook Island, Marshall Island, Kiribati, Micronesia, Nauru, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, and Tonga.
